Helping out with Maui63

https://www.maui63.org/

Recently I’ve been helping out Tane Van Der Boon down in New Zealand and his project to track and help protect endangered populations of aquatic mammals, and particularly Maui dolphins around the north island of New Zealand, of which there are only 63 individuals left (hence the name, Maui63).

I’ve been helping out with pipelines going from the logged footage to an online portal for image labeling, essentially doing ML Ops for Maui63 using models Tane built himself.

I particularly love the subject matter of this project, as I really love animal conservation, and should there be a need, or would I have the time, I would love to contribute more to projects such as this one. In another life, maybe I would have been a marine biologist.
